Want to host a Free Market?

Mar 22

Hi folks! The Free Store is looking for venues to host Free Market events throughout 2014.  The biggest reason for “pauses” in our volunteer/donate/redistribute schedule is the lack of a host venue.  Our volunteers are excellent at what they do, and you can be sure your space will be the same when we leave as when we arrive!  We’ve never encountered a community that was anything but excited for our presence there, and we’d love to branch out to even more neighborhoods!  If you are interested in possibly hosting a Free Market, email Travis at events@baltimorefreestore.org.  In the meantime, be sure you’re on our email list and like our Facebook page to hear about upcoming opportunities.  Happy Spring, Baltimore!

Storefront search continues

Storefront search continues

Aug 08

Hey folks,

We want to remind all our friends out there that we are still looking for a place to call home.  Many of you remember the storefront we had on West Baltimore St, and how having a permanent storefront allowed us to be open for shopping once a week, and for donations twice a week.  We’d love to be able to do that again, but we need your help.  And the BIG news is, we have received a $10,000 grant specifically to use at a storefront, but we have to have a spot chosen and lease drafted THIS MAY!

Here are ways you can get in on the action:

  • If you have property in the city and want to rent it out to an awesome nonprofit, we want to hear from you!
  • If you know of a property that looks like it might be suitable for us, and (more importantly) you know who owns it, we also want to hear from you.
  • If you want to help fund us so we can afford awesome things like storefronts, click on that donate button on the right.  Get in touch with us first if it is a large donation amount or you want it to go specifically to the storefront fund.

All storefront related correspondence should be directed to Bonnie at bnordvedt@baltimorefreestore.org.

Thanks!
